About The Rural Planner
Alyson Linnegar is a qualified planning and housing professional. She has a degree in Rural Environment Studies from the University of London and is Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
She has worked in various rural and urban local authorities in Development Management, Planning Policy and Housing. Her last post within Local Government was as an Affordable Housing Officer where her role was to increase the delivery of affordable housing within the District.
She has also had several posts in the voluntary sector. As a Rural Housing Enabler working in a Rural Community Council, her role was to work with local authorities, Housing Associations, local communities and landowners to develop affordable housing schemes on rural exception sites. Her second role in this sector was the post of Community Planner in the Planning Aid Service where activities included planning training, and assisting community groups with planning projects including Parish Plans.
Since setting up hew own planning consultancy in 2011, Alyson has assisted numerous clients in development management, planning policy, community planning and training and affordable housing.
She is an accredited 'Spaceshaper' Facilitator and a member of the Neighbourhood Planning Independent Examiners Referral Service. (NPIERS)
